Meet Jasmine — The Story Behind Meals With Grandma

Meals With Grandma is a family-inspired food blog created to preserve, share, and celebrate the kind of recipes that feel like home. The ones passed down through generations, made with simple ingredients, and filled with warmth, memory, and love.

I’ve always believed that good food doesn’t need to be complicated to be meaningful. The best meals are often the ones made in familiar kitchens, with trusted hands, and a story behind every bite. That belief is at the heart of everything you’ll find here.

The Heart Behind Every Recipe

My name is Jasmine, and I’m the creator, writer, and recipe developer behind Meals With Grandma.

I grew up in Florida, where some of my most cherished memories were made right in my grandmother’s kitchen. I was always by her side, watching, helping, tasting, and learning. She never followed strict measurements or fancy techniques. Instead, she cooked with instinct, patience, and love.

What made her cooking truly special wasn’t just the food—it was the moments. She wrote little notes next to her recipes, not just about ingredients, but about life:

what the day felt like
who was in the kitchen
what made her smile while the oven warmed

Those memories shaped how I see cooking today.

What “We” Means Here

When I say “I” on this site, I’m referring to myself, Jasmine, the sole author and editor of the content on Meals With Grandma.

When I say “we,” I’m speaking about the family traditions and experiences that inspired this blog, especially the time I’ve spent cooking alongside my grandmother.

While my grandmother plays an important role in recipe inspiration and hands-on cooking, all recipes, articles, and written content are created, tested, and published by me.

Why I Created Meals With Grandma

Meals With Grandma was created to be more than just a collection of recipes. It’s a place for:

  • Home cooks who want reliable, tested recipes that actually work
  • Families looking to bring comfort and tradition back to the table
  • Busy households that need simple meals without stress
  • Anyone who believes food should feel warm, familiar, and joyful

Every recipe you see here is cooked in a real home kitchen, using everyday ingredients, and tested multiple times to make sure it’s practical, approachable, and delicious.

I’ve been cooking for 5–10 years, learning through family tradition, repetition, and real-life experience—not culinary school. And that’s exactly the kind of cooking I share here.

What You’ll Find on the Blog

At Meals With Grandma, you’ll find:

  • Comforting breakfasts to start the day right
  • Homestyle dinners perfect for weeknights or family gatherings
  • Desserts and bakes inspired by tradition and celebration
  • Drinks that feel cozy, refreshing, or nostalgic
  • Practical kitchen tips passed down from my grandmother’s experience

Every recipe comes with clear instructions, helpful notes, and honest guidance—because cooking should feel doable, not overwhelming.

Cooking With Family, For Family

All recipes are tested at home, often cooked alongside my grandmother, and always shared with family first. These are the meals we return to again and again—the ones tied to holidays, birthdays, quiet afternoons, and everyday moments.

Food has a way of connecting generations, and that connection is what I hope you feel when you cook from this site.

Some of my favorite moments? Sharing recipes with my family on holidays, birthdays, or just-because days.

Like the time I made cupcakes for my dear friend Emma’s birthday—she still talks about them German Chocolate Poke Cake. I love when someone says, “Can you bake me something?”—because that’s how I know food connects us.

Site Management & Operations

Meals With Grandma is co-founded and technically managed by Yassine Lachgar, who oversees website operations, performance, and monetization.
